Douglas County's new 4-tower simulcast system is now online, taking the place of site 002 of KSICS with a new site number of 046 under call sign WQSA645.

Current control channel is 852.26250.

Other frequencies for the new KSICS sub-system are:

851.8125
852.0875
852.4500
852.6000
852.8000

We should start to see some new talkgroups start to pop-up on the system as they test it and start migrating users from the old analog KU/Douglas TRS to the new KSICS sub-system.

Is one of the four sites the Lawerence KSICS site? Getting two or three bars constantly here in Topeka.

Thanks for the headsup. I didn't realize they were on line yet. I have it full meter now and waiting to hear something.

Looks like Douglas County Dispatch is dispatching the City PD and County S.O. from TALKGP 4745. I'd think this was temporary.

And the garbage man is on 4788. Sure glad our tax dollars can buy each of them $7000 radios.

Also, a few other notes from an hour or so of monitoring the CC. Here are the active TGs I observed, along with what (if anything) I (or others) know about them:
4716
4727
4743
4745 police dispatch
4746 police info
4747
4748 jail
4749
4750 KU police dispatch
4767 fire dispatch
4787
4788 sanitation
4789
Perhaps others with some time can monitor these and fill in the unknowns.

Also, all the licensed channels appear to now be in service (as opposed to just a few days ago, when only two traffic channels were in service), except for 852.45, which is apparently still available on the old Smartnet system (which is still running, but now has only one traffic channel).

Finally got around to programming the new system into scanner, and thought I would share a a little additional info based on an hour or so of monitoring this evening.

4743 - Police and/or Sheriff TAC
4752
4753
4769 - EMS - Dispatch?

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I have some investigating to do to figure out what went wrong with the update from Sentinel to the 536.

Actually, the non-public safety 800 radios with limited features for use by public works etc are relatively inexpensive. No need to give the trash collector one of the tricked out APX radios all tricked out for firefighters with GPS, mayday alarms and all the other bells and whistles.

Not all of them are in the database, only the ones identified in this thread. I have many more unknowns if anyone wants to take a listen. Most of these have almost no traffic at all and will be hard to ID.
I have seen activity on these TGs, but have no idea about the users or content:
4719, 4720, 4721, 4722, 4726, 4727, 4729, 4740, 4744, 4753, 4760, 4768, 4771, 4777, 4779, 4786, 4795.
Here are a couple where I have heard some things but cannot positively ID:
4728 Lifestar 1 was on there doing a radio check with Lawrence Dispatch
4751 KU dispatch was on here with alert tones
Here are some that I am almost certain of, but have not submitted yet:
4747 Law Enforcement Detectives
4789 Lawrence Public Works
And these I simply need to send in (they are confirmed):
4716 Law Enforcement "Incident 1" aka "GCOM1"
4752 Juvenile Detention Center

Got it from Scannermaster. It's OK....would be better if the Siren app were available and working. I'm still finding my way around the Sentinel app...it's not particularly user friendly or intuitive,...though part of it might be me...

If I had it to do over, I might have gone with the 436 for portability, but if I get the Siren app I might change my mind.
