Barren County is planning on getting a new radio system. When I hear anymore at our meetings I'll keep ya'll updated. Glasgow Daily Times, Glasgow, KY - Departments still working toward radio improvements

I was talking to the owner of Kidd Communications, the company that won the bid, the other day about the new system and he said the paper work was filed with the FCC and that the license should be approved within the next couple of months. It will still be analog at the present time but has the capability to be digital. Not to sure on the actual name but it will be a voter system with 6 total repeaters. The majority of the antennas will be placed on Bluegrass Cellulars cell towers.

He didn't tell you which flavor of digital did he? Kenwood has a P25 upgrade either on the market or coming to the market (crosses fingers)...
