Default Anchorage EMS

Is Anchorage EMS on UHF or 800mhz? And does anyone have the frequency available?

The Med units of Anchorage Fire/EMS are dispatched & operate on the Louisville Metro EMS channels (primarily on med channel 10, although they have been heard on med channel 9). I'm not sure if they utilize the Anchorage 800mhz systems on the side, but I'm sure that they will be on the new MetroSafe 80mhz system once that's fully operational.

Anchorage uses VHF for Fire runs and Uhf on EMS runs, they do not have access to the Anchorage 800MHz.

Anchorage EMS currently uses the UHF Medical frequencies. They are "paged out" on EMS 10. They also have VHF channels for fire communications.

When the new MetroSafe radio system is up and running, Anchorage will migrate to the new system when Louisville Metro EMS does. The most recent thought is for Anchorage EMS to be "paged out" on the new fire dispatch frequency that is in the offing.
