Well out of date [looks like 1980's info] as the 162-165 for the FBI are generally inputs

You would be better to put some time in and search
162-174 Mhz

Well, for Kentucky, search 167 and 170.
All will be encrypted, but look for the 067 NAC.

Depending on where you are located you may not get to listen at all. I am located in between two FBI headquarters (St. Louis and Kansas City) but I still doubt with even the strongest antenna that I would pick them up, if they even talk.

They have repeaters everywhere. A lot of them (if not all nowdays) are networked. There are resident agencies in all major cites. Just because you are a long distance from a field office doesn't mean you won't hear anything (not taking encryption into account).

OK, where are you hearing FBI comms in the clear?
Northern Ky and Greater Cincinnati ARE all encrypted.

Don't expect it to be like listening to your Local Police/Fire Dispatch, keep searching

I'm down in New Orleans now and hearing them in the clear. Not all units, but quite a few are not using the secure switch. And a couple of weeks ago in New York City, a fair number of FBI field units were not secure.

It's a crap shoot...

Just because something is encrypted doesn't mean its not worth monitoring either.
