good idea!!!! I'll go first

453.525 DPL 754 in Columbia, Adair co.

It is a jail, but I am not in the area enough to figure out if it is the Adair Regional Jail or the Youth Development Center. Whoever it is is operating on an expired license or without a license

While driving back from the outback in Central Kentucky this morning I heard the radio shop testing 155.73000/156.7PL as Channel 6.... that used to be Cynthiana PD/Harrison Co. SO primary..... does anyone have a good ID on the user now?

haven't heard anything from my location since you posted....
what county were you in when you heard this?
and could you tell if it was simplex or repeater?

Hi All: Bear with me, this might not be exactly an unidentified freq question, but: could someone living near Hardin County confirm a couple of freqs for me...

The rr.com data base has Hardin EMS listed thusly:
158.75250 (out) 153.88250 (in) WQFP227 BM 114.8 PL F-1 Hardin County EMS- Dispatch FM
The FCC data base has the freqs listed that way as well... however a scannist in Hardin county is having trouble monitoring the freqs in that order... he is receiving nothing on 158.75250 and, at least the crews on 153.88250..... could someone sort this out for me--I am curious and live too far away to monitor them....

In advance, THANX for the help!

According to the FCC, the base only has 50 watts ERP, which is kind of low. They also have three or four locations. So it might be some kind of simulcast.

It's out of my range, and they do have several other VHF frequencies listed. He might want to try those as well.

You are correct.... this is a Special Temporary Authority license (WQFP227) set to expire 25 Feb 2007. Their STA letter states they will be using this as a countywide simulcast system.... now that I am into this I remember reading something about this sytem somewhere and their reasoning for the simulcasting..... just don't remember where! old age? You prompted me to dig deeper into the FCC database... and there is some new stuff in there posted within a week or so! Thanx for the reply

It reads like a spy novel, that FCC database regarding Hardin County's foibles...Looks like the only way the FCC would give the nod was if they used 50 watt transmitters in their simulcast system.... there are a couple of deleted freqs... and the thing is a nightmare... still don't know if the Hardin EMS dispatch freq is input or output or even in use. They have added 158.99250 at 40 watts and 159.18000/153.80000 at between 25 and 70 watts and modified their simulcast system....

UnitCharlie and GWRagland, Thank you both so very much for digging around and finding the Hardin County EMS frequency. As Unitcharlie knows, this was for my mothers scanner. She loves listening to them down there. I just wanted to take a few minutes to sign up to RR so I could thank you both publicly! You all have made an old womans day!!! Hopefully when and if they switch, I can find what they go to without all the hassel you guys went through for me!!! Once again, you guys are great!!! Thanks!!!
