TK-705D Scan

Having trouble getting my $10 Hamvention special to scan.

I'm programming it using the front display with the jumper set and I can't get it to scan.

Key to success?

Either adjust setting to allow "OFF HOOK SCAN" (if that is an option), or make sure that the microphone is in it's clip and the mic clip is grounded. Those are the two most common reasons radios don't scan.

I have a TK 805D.
internal jumpers should both be in left pos. for programming. As mentioned before mic.must be grounded before radio will scan.
I use a magnetic mic.clip stuck to the power supply.
