Default KENWOOD P25 Assistance

Is the trunking operation of KENWOOD P25 is only with digital modulation,or can it work also with analog(FM) modulation as well in the trunking mode?i know that XTS5000 OF MOTOROLA can work in the trunking mode in analog and digital modulation so it can be competible with old trunking radios, but what about KENWOOD P25?

THANK'S

DORON

No it can not. It is true P25 trunking (9600PS), the Moto systems that do support analog voice are know as a "Mixed-Mode" 3600BPs systems. If the XTS5000 was on a P25 system it would not allow analog voice ether.

Don't know how to "fix" you.

To compare LTR with SmartZone is a bit like comparing the a basic economy car to a purpose built police car. Yes, it might be 'better' for some things, but in general no.

Kenwood does (or did) build a SmartZone compatible radio. I don't think it had any digital modes.

As stated before a P25 trunking system does not support analog voice channels, but a SmartZone system can support both analog and P25 CAI channels.

To my knowledge, LTR does not support any digital voice modes.
