Default Bypassing tk-880 password

A customer brought in a tk-880-1 to have the talk group changed. We went into programming and came to password and put in the word that was always (we thought) used. No go. We tried a few variations but no luck. Question: Do any of you know how to circumnavigate the password or reset the password so we can program this guys radio?

Signed,
Standing here looking stupid with customer in lobby!

I am fairly sure you can overwrite the existing codeplug on that model, but you may not want to lose the existing program---

from my experience with this issue, I have not found any way around the password issue without just making a new "codeplug" (moto term) and directly writing it onto the radio. This could be an issue if you do -+51
