Default A few questions about the TK-790H

My main question about speaker pinouts was answered in the post before this one. A big thanks to Fire_Master_21

However, I have two other quetions:
1) Can I run 12 volt ignition power directly into the ignition sense pin on the 15-pin connector?
2) Assuming that I'm going to be running power to the speakers off the remote heads, will I still plug the speaker short plug with the wire loop into the back of the main unit?

Thanks for your help!

Jared

Just program the ignition sense to be off.

Using an external speaker you use different pins than using the internal speaker. Consult your manual.

The ignition sense is not programmable in this radio, it is selectable via a solder jumper inside the chassis. If you are asking, can you hook the ignition wire to the battery, to make the radio stay on all the time, the answer is yes. The ignition wire is pin 1 on both the control head and chassis accessory plugs. (you only need one)
The speaker shorting plug on the chassis enables the internal control head speakers, but I am not sure if you need for external speakers, just unplug it when you have it all hooked up and see. I plan to do this and try, the next one I work on.

The SP jumper needs to be in place unless you are getting the SP AU out of the 9 pin Molex on the rear of the deck.
