The TK-880 is capable of Narrowband through programming
The TK-840 requires a modification that replaces crystal filters, ceramic filter, TCXO and a few other components. You can purchase the kit from Communications Specialists at Narrow Band Filters

The TK-840 also came as a TK-840(N) model. That version did Narrowband from the factory.
