TK-2170 Programming Software & Cable

My department is about to purchase 15 of the TK-2170 radios. The dealer wants $30 each to program them. For this money, it appears I can possibly purchase the software and cable to do it ourselves.

Is this something that someone who is reasonably proficient with computers (and has experience programming scanners) should attempt? If so, does someone know the proper software and cabling part numbers?

You should have no trouble programming them. I have a bunch of TK-272 and TK-760 along with a batch of TK-690 and TK-6110 that our dept uses. They are not that hard to program. If you need any help give a shout.
