Question X90 series programming question

I just bought a pre-programmed dual-band setup. I am wondering where the actual programming is stored. Is it in the head, or in the radio itself? I currently have a 690 installed and I was really hoping all I had to do was hook up power, antennas, and swap the control head cable not the whole thing. A quick reply would be appreciated as i am wanting to swap these radios out soon (ie tomorrow). Thanks guys

Its in the unit itself. The heads are made to be swapped out.

Part of it is in the head as well due to the programable keys.
