Cool Kenwood TK-5400

Hi, everyone. I am in need of some help once again. I have a Kenwood TK-5400, and I have it programmed, but, when I turn the radio on, it will not unmute or receive any voice unless I press the MON key. I have the NAC set to F7E, and still no luck. I have tried everything. Software is not very user friendly, but I know my way around it now by changing things here and there. There must be something I am overlooking. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is the channel type set as analog, digital, or mixed? You may have analog traffic on a channel programmed as digital.

Cool Kenwood TK-5400

Well, I do have it set for mixed, which should work. I also found out that if I put the correct NAC in, it works just fine. I do not know why it won't unmute with the F7E code. Maybe someone out there knows. Thanks for the response code3cowboy.

Default Programming software KPG-78D

I have been trying to find the KPG-78D programming software for the TK-5400, and Kenwood's WebTools site no longer has it listed. Does anyone know why Kenwood no longer offers this, or if there is another source for legally obtaining the software?

Kenwood does not normally sell any software direct to a user. You have to go thu a dealer or find other sources.

Thanks, I was going through a dealer, and he told me it wasn't available anymore.
