TK 730HG NB Issue

I have been programming my TK730 with KPG7D for many years. No problem with W/N selection. 160 Ch
I need to program 151.2275 but it keeps reverting to 151.2750.
Delta County, Colorado (CO) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference
Is this going to take a firmware upgrade?
My KW dealer is out of business, thought I'd check here first.

Unfortunately, NO. This radio series is over 20 years old and the HARDWARD does not allow for doing
2.5kz channel spacing.

There is no firmware or hardware upgades for this radio.

Even thru the only software for the radio is still only DOS, it can be changed to NARROW band.

You go to the 790G series and be able to do the .25kz spacing.

TK790's are relatively inexpensive right now, (compared to 5 years ago) but your 730 is pretty much worthless on eBay.

I am getting a 730-H from my FD as they were told not narrowbandable. If I were to use the 790 software, can I get narrowband capability with this radio?

whitesox youCAN NOT use a differant version of ANY software to program a radio that the software is not disigned for.

IE-the 730 uses ONLY DOS KPG7 and that is the ONLY version that it uses's. The 790 uses KPG44.

It is a combination of the hardware, firmware that the program 'talks' to to allow for programming and service of the radio.

In addition the HARDWARE is not capable of 2.5KHz steps. So frequencies that fall on 7.5KHz steps that end as 1xx.xx25 or 1xx.xx75 are NOT Possible with the TK-730 radio. There is no hardware modification or software modification to get the radio to do it.

There aren't any .xx25 or .xx75 frequencies to put in. Is there any way to go narrowband with a non-"G" model?

If the radio does not have a 'n' in the model id, (TK 730 (n) ) then no, it will not go narrow band.

If it has the 'n', then it is already narrow band.
