Default TK-8160 (no measurable power)

I have a TK-8160K and have been using it for months and lately I have been told I am hard to read so I attached my watt / swr meter and there is no measurable power coming out of the radio. I looked over the service manual thinking that the amp must be burned out. Is this a "user" repairable item or would an average guy be better off to send it in. What "could" be likely problems?

If the PA "brick" is bad, it is very easy to replace. (Assuming that you can solder). You can try just replacing it, however, there may be various other issues at play.
Did you check to make sure your DC power is not dropping when you transmit?
