i installed VGS 1 in my tk 2180 can you have the voice read the channel names besides just saying channel one and so on?

Also what is the Beat Shift in the programing for?

The VGS-1 is kinda old and not sophisticated enough to decode alpha info from the display. It only has canned "words" that correspond to functions of the radio.

If you scan the forums, you'll run across unhappy people because their favorite frequency is unusable due to an internal "birdie" that lands on channel. If this happens in a Kenwood, clicking beat shift will alter the clock frequency slightly and move the birdie off the channel. As you can see, this is a per-channel selection.
