Default new modem/unknown host problem

howdy all:
my isp is requiring me to switch to a new modem.

the new modem seems to function normally but when i use Nicecast to re-establish my feed i get a "Resolving Host Name" message and after about 30 seconds i get a "Error: unknown host" message. restarting my computer did not resolve the issue.

i switched back to my old modem so all is well again.

any ideas on what i need to do to get my feed to work w/ the new modem before my isp ceases supporting the old modem?

cheers,
curtis cochran

Is this a cable modem, a dial-up modem, or the router? What is the model number of the new device?

its a cable modem connected to a linksys router (its a wireless router but i have a hard connection between router and live feed imac).

cable modem info: ubee D3.0 and there are 3 stickers on bottom reading "CABLE RF MAC ADDRESS=00265E..." i don't know if sending full address script exposes a security issue or not. i can send the rest to you if you think it will help.

Make sure you are on port 80 or 8000 & that the modum/router is able to pass info via the port. Port 80 is the most common.

You may also need to do a port forward but this is rare.
I had to do this for one feed but the I did not need to do it.

But first, check the config of the old modum.

This is the best I can do for now.
