volume on scanner

Im new to this is there a way to turn the volume down on your scanner and still broadcast your feed so others can here it.or do you have to have the volume up all the time.

You dont have to have the volume wide open but you do need to set it about 1/2 way point. When its feeding you shouldnt be able to hear it except thru the computer. Hope this helps

so if i want to here music on my computer i will here the scanner at the same time.

No If you open the link to listen to the scanner you will, but it should be fine to listen to anything else.

It depends, are you using a mono cable or stereo. If you're using a mono you could adjust the balance to the right or left to cut out the scanner audio ouput from your speakers.

My using mono but if i cut out the scanner audio ouput it will cut out my music on that speaker.also

Some people install a second sound card to get around this problem. Places like Newegg sell PCI sound cards for as little as $8.99! For my Live Feed, I actually have a dedicated PC tucked back in the corner of the "shack". It is a really old computer that barely, and I mean just barely runs XP.

if you dont want to listen to the scanner then mute the relevent input on the output side of the mixer(sound card control) eg if your scanner is on the line in then mute line in on the output side, it will still stream but you can listen to music

thats why I use the record-in for my feed...doesnt upset regular playback, also with it set up like this, I only have to turn my volume on the scanner up just slightly

Why not just mute the input so it doesn't effect anything that you may want to hear on the computer (it will still provide audio for the feed when muted).
