Default "Popping" noise

Hello all,
I recently set up the San Marcos Police Dispatch audio feed. After installing a ground loop isolator to fix an audio hum, I'm still getting a "popping" noise.

Let me know if ya'll have any diagnostic techniques.

I'm wondering if it's a feed line problem or interference from some other device.

I switched the scanner out for a minute with a different one- the popping noise is still present (though a different pitch, same rythym). So I don't think it is the scanner itself.

I'd rather not have to unplug everything to find it.

This problem persisted on the conventional NOAA weather radio freq here also...

Here's a thought:

You know what most noise suppressors are right? A capacitor. And you know what a capacitor sounds like when they release energy right?

Try getting rid of the original problem so you don't need a noise suppressor.

To troubleshoot and see if I'm right, remove the suppressor and listen for awhile. If the "POP" is gone, don't put it back in. Rather, find the offensive wire/device that is close to your scanner or the wires going to or coming from your scanner.

Good luck.
