questions re: live feed

I just came across this site and downloaded berry scanner. I am a telecommunicator (fancy name for 911 dispatcher) for our sheriff's dept. I have been listening to this at work on my blackberry just to see if there is any lag in radio traffic. I have noticed there is anywhere from a few seconds to about 30 seconds of lag from the radio to my phone. The other day I was listening to my phone and noticed some time later the exact same radio traffic was playing again. Is this arcived traffic? I like this app on my phone so when I go on break so I dont have to take a portable radio with me. Im not concerned about the lag, but the replaying of traffic does. Is it supposed to do that? If not is there a way to fix it?

This lag is partly due to the internet and it's also partly due to the software (BerryScanner) creating a buffer prior to playing. It will take a bit longer for cell phone based audio streaming software to fill it's buffer compared to regular high speed internet.

That delay has nothing to do with your dispatches radio hardware.
