Yes, it is $14.95 per month per feed. You would have to pay for each feed.

It is my understanding that the archived audio is currently only for download for RR premium members, is that correct?? That wouldn't change, would it??
|
That is correct. It will not change.

I'm seeing that you will offer us to put the archives on our own webpages - but it would still require a RR membership to download? I'm confused (sorry).
|
No, users would not need a RadioReference premium subscription to access the archives from your page.

When I signed up as a RR broadcaster, I didn't realize that 3rd party apps would also have access to use the RR feeds.. I really only wanted to have RR to have access to my feeds and not the 3rd party apps. Is this something that will be part of the premium package, or can this be setup for free on each feed??
|
Yes, you will have the ability to choose whether or not your feed is available to third parties, the RadioReference audience, the general public, or a combination. You'll also have the ability to set up a completely private feed available for only certain individuals.

But if someone was currently hosting a feed such as "City of Radio Reference PD" (for example) and all of a sudden makes the feed private, couldnt someone else just put up the same feed but public? Making the private feed pointless?

That situation doesn't make the private feed "pointless." The value of a private feed is determined by the private community that participates in that feed, not the overal community.

Will there be a chance to host both (for example stream a public one and a private one). The public one could be for the public and private for people who donate or pay?

Sure, why not?

I like! That way I won't neglect a whole bunch of people and offer benefits to others!

Lindsay,
The only option I am interested is limiting the streams to the RR community, and not being used by 3rd party apps - as I already self support the other options you are marking as premium.
IMHO, it just doesn't seem fair to charge per stream when there are those like me that send multiple scanner feeds to RR and get the same benefits as those who only stream one feed..

Currently we're a little behind right now in getting this released, but we're hoping we can get it in production by the beginning of July.
Thanks!

3rd Party Apps
So with this, will there be a way to allow third party apps to stream your broadcast but not have it available at RR?
For instance, I like streaming my feed using bbscanner, but if I make the feed private, or only available to certain users, will bbscanner still have access to the stream?
Is there a way to grant permissions for this?
Another questions:
Can we have a web player on a members only side of our websites thats not restricted to a list of members. But that is not available on RR?
Like make it so that members of my Joomla based website have to pay to login to listen, but not have to sign up for RR?
Thanks guys

My other question is what is referred to when you say "Complete access to all mount points and server details - do what you want with your feed, anywhere, anytime." Maybe that statement is straight forward but what access am I getting for that and what can be done?

Yeah I am wondering the same thing. I mean its better to wait and do it right than to do it with a lot of bugs. Especially since it is a premium offering that has to be paid for. Just feel like a kid in a candy store though, I can't wait.

All,
Lindsay will surely roll this out just as soon as it's ready. Please stay tuned for further updates as I am sure he will update us when there is something significant to report

Really? 45 to 60 days later; this is the service we get? We have to pay for this? A lot of the services offered are those which SA offered in the first place for feed providers. What happened to detailed reports (ip address(es)) of those who are listening?
TIA,
Ryan

Frankly Ryan, I'm trying to take a vacation with my family, the first in quite a while. So yes, at this moment, this is the service you get. We're busting our asses over here 12 hours a day, every day, and sometimes we need to take a breather.
No Ryan, you don't have to pay for the premium feed broadcaster features. If you find value in the features that we are going to provide here soon, you are more than welcome to do so, but we aren't twisting your arm.

A lot? Hardly. Cut it out with the off hand uninformed snarky comments.

Um, they are gone. Privacy concerns.
So Ryan, cool your heels and quit your *****ing. We are working very hard to accomplish a lot in a limited amount of time. So as we said before, please be patient.

Well said Lindsay... As I said in my post I would rather you and the team take your time on it and get it right rather than have a lot of bugs with it.
BTW have a great vacation and relax and enjoy yourself.

Folks,
I wanted to provide an update to everyone on the status of this project. Admittedly, we are delayed in getting these new offerings rolled out. Coupled with the new Uniden Homepatrol project, along with a well needed vacation for my family, our development team is tightly stretched.
However, much of the work for the new features are completed, but they need to be all tied together and extensively tested before we release. Therefore, I am going to push back the release date for the new premium feed offerings to Aug 15th, 2010. I am very confident we will meet this deadline and I look forward to sharing all of these awesome new features with the community.
Thanks for your patience and continued support.
