Not sure this is the place for this thread but I know the school shooting thread is not the place. IMHO, the archives should be locked down on the feeds from Connecticut. Several members have made that request, particularly several that live in the area.
I do not think they should be destroyed. Someday, they would make great training material. I just know that they can get misused and abused by the media and others.
Just a request from someone who dealt with Columbine and the Aurora Theater and formerly in broadcast journalism.

Considering some of the horrendously exploitative coverage I've seen today, I'd say the media has managed to misuse and abuse this tragedy just fine on its own.

Besides, it sounds like public safety agencies acted with exceptional skill and bravery. Especially going in and trying to neutralize the shooter straight away, rather than waiting for reinforcements (a lesson learned after Columbine).

That's something the public should hear.
