Reccomended Freqs for Hurricane Comms
Does anyone have any suggestions on what systems and/or frequencies to program for Severe weather Comms? I have been listening to the LATIE New Orleans North Site on my 396t, but I don't hear much from the local Emergency Preparedness Offices. I have the local ARES/RACES and NOAA frequencies, but I was curious if there is something else. Could the OEP in Jefferson Parish be using the old analog system? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks- Robby

re:EOC
The EOC's in New Orleans area are not transmitting as of yet. Everything is being done by conference call, with the last one tonight at 2145hrs.

How do the various EOC's communicate? Do they use LATIE, or is it mostly via phone? Also, I read that the National Guard is coming into the city around noon today. Another thread mentioned hearing them on LATIE in Baton Rouge. What would be the best tower to monitor for LATIE from Metairie ( 70005)? I am currently receiving the most activity from the North Simulcast Site.

I am also in Metairie and monitor LATIE on the North Simulcast site. I heard National Guard convoy traffic this morning on the 7010 talkgroup. Let us know if you find any JP talkgroups with hurricane traffic.

Listening now to TG ID 28933 talking about "these are great radios" and how they are working on sandbagging. they sound to be based from the municipal auditorium. Sounds to me like this may be a sandbagging group

Based on that ID prefix, as well as the radio prefixes that are in use on that talkgroup, it is more than likely Plaquemines... prob Levee or something.
Still ironing out some bugs on the live feed.

I just finished loading all of the interop and State Police Talkgroups. There is a ton of activity on the North Simulcast (lots of bus staging comms and some pet/owner relocation problems). If anyone wants the frequencies and talkgroups I have programmed, send let me know. I am starting to hear Jeff Parish and Orleans Parish EOC Comms as well as National Guard Comms.

What Talkgroups did Kevin have on his streams? I am in Metairie next to the Sherriff's Office and want to listen to the EOC OPs. Kevin, I hope you are safe and OK.

The Customs COTHERN network is active. Monitoring the middle channels (7,8,10 Mhz) from Delaware no problem. Lot's of antenna tune ups being heard.
