Thumbs up New Talk Groups

WooBuff, Thanks for that great list of new talkgroups. I wanted to ask how you identified all of those. I have been monitoring with a wildcard and the traffic has been fast and furious so I obviously didn't catch nearly as many as you did. Did you use software to help ID these groups? If so, please tell us all what you used. Thanks again for the great post.

The talkgroups and alphatags are positively confirmed and correct, and I have an extremely high confidence that the descriptions are also accurate. I used Unitrunker to obtain the data, but I can't go into any more detail without jeopardizing my ability to obtain additional information in the future.

I submitted these updates to the database but, with the admin's current backlog, I thought they might be useful here as well.

Cool Heads UP!

There were a LOT of "new" talkgroups in the Caddo 911 system, too many to catch the info off of.

When I tried to re-do the Bossier Public Safety bank, some how I managed to "unlock" my Caddo 911 bank.
:-( I started getting EVERYTHING, Dog Catcher, Water Dept, Garbage trucks, stuff I really don't care to hear. BUT, as a "bonus", I started getting talk groups in the 1100 bracket and some in the 3100's that were being used as Emergency frequencies to the shelters, relief buses, medical care, etc.

There has also been some "weird tones & fax machine sounds" on SFD Tac-4. I do know one day they were having a lot of trouble out of the MDT's in the trucks. They may have been trying to correct the system. (????)

Looks like I'm going to have to hard reformat the Pro-95. I hate do to that as I have to "manually" program in all frequencies, talk groups, and alpha tags. Yes, I have the proper cable and software. But, I can't get to the back of the wife's computer to plug the cable in to do the programming. She has it in a desk cabinet and wired too "short" to move it out. It's litterally a real "pain" with arthritis to try and get the computer out of that cabnet, so I just program, manually.

This time, I'm leaving out the Bossier Parish Sheriff and all the State Police frequencies. Because of my "challanges", I'm not driving much and never get out that way any more. I'm not even driving to Waskom, TX to see my nearly 90 year old Mom. I do talk to her on the 'phone daily though.

Hurricane Mid-season is Sept. 10th, there's still plenty of time for the Gulf Coast to get another "Katrina", so Heads UP! I'm going to leave the Caddo 911 system, "unlocked" to see if the new talk groups continue, but I'll lock-out the usual 'Bravo Sierra', LOL!

Respectfully Submitted,
73,

Don/KA5LQJ
