Default new WFP Antenna

OK, West Feleciana parish/St. Francisville has built a new EOC near Hardwood, just east of Hwy 61 by the new firestation, just before the park complex.

I can find nothing on this new antenna, frequencies, location, etc. I know it's operation on LWIN for SO & probably PD, it also is operational on FD.

the ant is within 100' of N30.48.21.6, w091.22.50.2

All I've been able to discern is that the frequencies 764.206250p and 764.956250 are being used by WFP SO (& PD) and local VFD.

anyone know the details of this new transmitter/site?

You should not need to enter any of the voice channels into your P25-capable scanner. The control channels, only, will do. The ones you will need for W. Feliciana are in the database.

There would also be nothing to really "find" for the location, as far as LWIN is concerned. Since you indicate they have a tower at the site, you may be able to find V/UHF and 800 licensed channels for that site.

Thanks,

It's a Pro 106 - the 2 freq I listed are CC only and currently in RR as dormant for another location. I'm trying to find the CC's for that new antenna that must have been re-assigned.

All the ones in the database are old & none reference the new antenna -

JP,

I think you may be missing what is going on here. As frequencies are limited throughout the spectrum, the must be duplicated throughout the system. Just because they are listed as dormant in some other sites, which are all quite a distance away from the Felicianas, does not meant they are "blacklisted" from being used.

Try plugging in the CCs for the towers there, in the DB. I am sure you will hear them.

In addition, there is probably no new control channel for "that" antenna. As I said in the previous post, the antennas on the newly built tower could be for other channels.

More than likely, there is no actual transmitter at that site for LWIN, except for backup mobiles/handhelds. Since it is a parish EOC, I would expect that they are actual consoles. I could be wrong about that, but from what I have seen, not likely.

The only way you will find a new CC there on LWIN is if that EOC was built at the same site as one of the new tower locations for the LWIN system. Even then, their consoles would be networked, but there would be a "transmitter" there.

I may be passing through there in a month or so, and I would be able to tell if the consoles are networked or not. But without seeing CC data, I can't.

Thanks, Kevin,

Yes, I could easily be missing something - I'm new to scanning... Plug in the CC for the towers where? There are none listed for WFP. The closest LWIN I can find is Jackson. I've entered the Jackson CC's into zach/baker, EBR, & WFP and selected multi site mode 'roam'. Correct?

This all began when I re-programmed my 106 to assign different groups to different scanlists. I ended up unable to receive any WFP activity and no LSP. I went back to a saved working configuration & found that the difference was the control frequencies programmed into the TSYS. I had control frequencies listed on RR as in Grand Isle at the top of the list & others close by that were triggering the scanner as a CC "T" with 5 bars but receiving nothing. I changed the CC's to the working ones & found them to be listed as 'dormant' and quite a distance away.

I've assumed that I'm receiving most everything I get from EBR, but still hear closer activity i.e. Zachary & Baker very static filled. This makes me believe they're transmitting from their own but the CC on their TSYS is: WBR & several other entities (shared as you indicated).

I'm just trying to find the closest transmitter for best reception (1/2 way between SF & jackson). I also have programmed one list with all of LSP & selected every major city CC with hopes of being able to track LSP while traveling in the state - wrong?

thanks again for your assistance,

JP

The Parker Road (1-033) and Sage Hill (1-032) sites are in West Feleciana Parish and use the frequencies listed in the database. I monitored activity from Troop A, EBRSO,and West Feleciana SO on these sites as recently as two weeks ago.

WB is right, jp. Just plug in the CCs for your area (as WB pointed out) and do not worry about if they are located in other areas as well.

Also, as I stated in the other post, there is not ging to be a "site" for LWIN on that antenna, at the EOC... Unless they are located at one of those sites in the DB. That is for some other transmitters/receivers at the location... for other bands / agencies / non-interoperable systems (with an ACU-1000 or similar patch gateway)

Roger that. I've driven up there and found both those towers. If he puts the CC for those two and Jackson he should hear just about everything around there.
