Default Ascension Parish Public Safety Comms

Folks,

So what's the latest with Ascension Parish and their public safety communications?

I notice that it appears that the SO uses LWIN, while there are multiple listed Smartzone systems and an LTR system for the FD.

What's the latest? I'd like to get everything updated on the Parish DB page so we can have an accurate representation.

Please email me at webmaster [at] radioreference.com with updates that you would suggest or anything you can give insight on. Thanks!

My dad lives there and I just bought him the BCD396XT so we'll see what we can figure out. The 800 system is still in use and from what I understand that will always be their primary system for communications. The Ascension Parish New system as it is called in the database is current with most if not all the talkgroups being digital. I could not find a control channel on the Old system so I am wondering if those frequencies were not folded into the new system. I didn't have the computer attached to log ID/Frequencies when I was there. I only go for the weekend and while visiting haven't been able to identify much, but the ID's from the Old system appear to have also been migrated to the New system. Ascension SO for instance the ID for the Old system appears on the new system and I hear them so combine the systems and go with it. As far as the Donaldsonville site.....Um..... The Fire LTR system also is in place, but they are migrating to the New system. They will only use LWIN as I understand it from talking to my dad, who is on a Volunteer Fire Department as a back-up due to some worries the Parish has about the system and it's administration. Hope this helps any more questions feel free to PM or ask. I'll give more info when I can.
