Default LSP Disappeared?

I've been monitoring LSP regularly on my Pro 106, both P25 trunked & their old Moto II trunked system with regular activity on both.

They've both suddenly disappeared with 0 activity since Friday.

Is there something going on for Memorial Day weekend, or is it just me?

JP

hmmmm....

this is all Troop A, BR that I usually monitor - they were planning a major DUI push that I was going to monitor.

I've un-lockout'd the LWIN wildcard & am getting a couple of hits there now, mostly EMS & EBR SO. No Troop A -
confused...

Thanks for your suggestions & help -

I've attempted to put all of LSP P25/LWIN TGRP into 1 TSYS with CC's for every major tower in the state, BR at the top of the list & W. Feliciana in the list for listening at home.

I have the 'multi site mode' set to roam to select the best tower when & travel.

Do you think this is workable, or causing my confusion?

The most confusing part was both the P25/LWIN and the MOTO II (seperate TSYS) both going quiet at the same time.?.?

Thanks again,

JP

now I'm getting everything like before - perfectly normal

is ROAM locking on a LWIN CC from an antenna that isn't transmitting LSP Troup A (are all LWIN antennas CC channels valid for LSP?)?

I think I've figured it out but need input from you more experienced guys -

Everything's coming in as it used to now - all P25 normal activity. I noticed an antenna that I can see from my front porch was down for maintenance over the Mem. Day weekend. I noticed its HF arrays were back in place when I started receiving again - hmmm.

the antenna is not on RR as LWIN (not on RR at all).

Is it possible that this antenna is simulcasting & repeating 700mhz & 800mhz P25 even though it's not a formal LWIN antenna? If so, that would explain everything -

Thanks,

JP

I only know of two towers in W.F. that they would be on for 700. Sage Hill and Parker Rd. I've been to both. Do you live by one of them?

I live right between them. I'm listening on a pro 106 with 800mhz ducky, indoors & out. LWIN activity disappeared during maintenance of this new antenna over the Memorial day weekend. This new antenna is ~ 1 mile NW of my location & had a flag mounted on top during maintenance while the arrays were down. Before they took it down, I was receiving LWIN 10-2. I lost all LWIN while the flag was up & when they re-installed the arrays (& removed the flag), LWIN suddenly came back 10-2.

It's a new tower/antenna located at N30-50-19.4 W091-18-58.7.

I'm thinking it might be a part of the LWIN expansion that just hasn't been formally listed, yet.

Thanks for your reply -

JP

So that's not Sage Hill and it's a new tower? If so how far is it from Sage Hill?

Also looks like you would have gotten the Jackson tower if that one was down.

Rgr

I've also been to both sage hill & parker road. this new tower/ant is almost exactly 1/2 way between. every indication is that it's using the same CC as sage hill.

I should have gotten both parker rd (different CC) or sage hill (same CC) if this one that's 1 mile from me was down, but didn't.

all I know is that while it was down, I didn't get LWIN, when it was back up I did. I'm trying to figure out what it is & what's going on (sumulcast/repeater??)

thanks,

JP

I've got the same thing going on here in Troop I. I haven't picked up anything (state or local) on LWIN for several days. I made no changes to my scanner. I am picking up Troop E on the 800 mhz freqs.

I don't know this stuff is crazy sometimes. I think they are still trying to get things going.
The first tower you posted says Sage Hill but the location they are giving is the Jackson tower. Have you seen it? It's on the DCI property on right side of La. 10 going east pass the old diary. There are two tower beside each other one shorter than the other.

hwy 10 - plug the coord into google maps

new white gravel access, installed fencing last week

Yes, I've seen both ant in Jackson, listed as sage hill - the old, shorter one looks abandoned.

There is another antenna in more central WFP that is LWIN/WIKI sage hill but not on RR/LWIN as such. It's SE of angola and NE of parker

My friend works for a state agency that has stuff on the tower at DCI and I think you are right about the short tower I think they took the stuff off of it.

Looks like I'm going to have to take a ride up 10 to see the new ant.
