Talking St.Tammany and Tangipahoa

Hey guys,

I am a Trooper at troop L and I want to get the Uniden BC246T and BuTel ARC246 software. I plan on hooking it up to an external antenna on the trunk.

My question is , will this model pick up the St. Tammany S.O and the local police departments?

St. Tammany S.O you will not be able to pick them up, because I believe they are EDACS Pro-Voice. And there is not a scanner made to receive them. As you are aware of there are several agencies on LWIN in the Troop L area. Washngton Parish S.O. is on LWIN as well as Bogalousa P.D. and Slidell. The scanner you have does not receive the P25 signals that Washington Parish , Bogalousa, and Slidell use on the LWIN. You would need a scanner that receives P 25 systems.

good luck on that slidell had to fight and only got one hand held from the s.o.

I am kinda lucky cause i have deputies come in my work all the time and i can listen in on them when there sitting down to eat, so i guess i am one of the few who can listen to them and make it legal lol

but i do monitor the so system sometimes its in the clear Note Sometimes, but i listen to Mandieville fire on there system when its up, and Slidell police on there Motorola , and (praying) i can get a digital scanner soon and i say soon as in the next 50 years lol.

But heck i would get a digital scanner to minitor like new orleans pd and fire , and jefferson s.o.

there are a few guys at troop L that have S.O radios and they talk on them. As for our radios, personally, the traffic is kind of boring, just a whole bunch of wrecks and drunks.

Let me see, I gave Slidell PD 90 radio LID's and also programmed them back in 2001. And, they have three control stations with the STSO talk groups used on that side of the parish. Gee, I wonder why they only got one!!

Cool tower

does anyone know the status of the telephone tower that is just sitting in slidell and why its not being better utilized?it withstood katrina and looks like equipment mounting can be made capable towards the top with a minimal hardline run.just wondering.......
