Default 155.955 help... updated

This is from my buddy and he wanted me to post in on here to see if anybody knows who and where it is.
He's in Ethel, LA
Thanks.

Hey i need your help finding a repeater that's been screwing up every night for years. Its on 155.955, It keys up about every 8 seconds. Sure seems to be ESE from me. It sounds like it could be a ways off. I hear it when the band comes up. Havent found anything licensed on that freq on fcc for Louisiana or Mississippi. its running a 156.7 tone if anybody knows code it does id.

Seems like it might be St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection anybody know?

Most likely the station is on 155.955 MHz.
Here is a list of stations on that frequency:

http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/results.jsp?licSearchKey=licSearcKey2009725104884& curPage=1&reqPage=1&printable

If this page expires then your buddy can go to

http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchAdvanced.jsp

and enter in 155.955 frequency for a list of active licensed stations in LA.

Thanks ac7xc we found out it was 155.955 and it might be St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection. He's put in a phone call to someone over there and they are to call him back.

Default Ltr

Check for an LTR Trunked system using that frequency. A key up every eight seconds sounds like an LTR Trunked system control channel to me? Anybody else have any ideas?

Also you need to do a search for 155.9475, or 155.9525, or that range if its an LTR... the freqs will be narrowband VHF... What kind of scanner are you running? And what parish is this again?

It has a code ID on it and we got someone to read the code. It's KNEN766 in Baton Rouge.
My buddy called and told them the repeater is keying up every 8 seconds. They said they were going to check it out. That was yesterday about 1500hrs. and it's now 1032hrs and it's still doing it.

I would like to know what they use it for.

Is this a LTR system? LTR trunked systems key up every 10 seconds.

Above is a shortened LTR trunking keying sequence that I created.

FCC Callsign KNEN766 Details

This is an conventional system... If you can log a tone for it please do so. Dedicate some time to it and see what your hearing conversation wise. If you can ID this I will add it to the db. It says its EMS comms per the FCC lic.... If so would love confirmation.

I don't know if it has changed in the last 20 years but in the late 80s and early 90s 155.955 was used by the Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge, also known as BREC.

I think you are right. Seem like maybe EMS or the city has some pretty screwed up radio stuff. We think it's some old BREC stuff that probably nobody is doing anything with.
I have a friend that retired from EBRSO and is working as a park ranger for BREC he told me they are using radio from EMCO. I bet this is an unused repeater just sitting there keying up for some reason. Maybe a strobe light is keying it who knows.

I think you're right. I would like to know what if anything they are doing with it. Just checked again and about every 10 seconds it seems to key up and then you hear a tone/beep. Might be just more of our money being wasted and a good repeater too.
