Can't figure out how to program trunking on my new pro-95???
I am in Monroe, La. with a new pro-95 and have no understanding of how to program "groups" or "trunking" into it. I have found some four digit numbers and regular freqs from websites but neither my pro-95 manual nor any place else is very clear on entering the trunking info. Help!...............Rob

You picked up a nice unit Rob!
To make this the EASIEST that it can be, run down to your local Radio Shack and get a cable, item 20-289, and also download the free Win95 software from http://www.starrsoft.com. The way that Win95 is laid out, you can easily see all of the talkgroups.
In the manual, entering talkgroups starts on page 62.
Good luck!

I am assuming you are programming a Motorola system:
Locate the system(s) you wish to monitor (see the RR Database for them)
Press "Program"
Enter the control/data frequency (ies)
Press "Mode" and put the freq(s) in Motorola mode.
Press "Trunk" to enter the talkgroup information
Press "Mode" to put the scanner in Motorola Mode
Enter the talkgroups you wish to monitor (as well as the Alpha Tags)
If you wish to listen to all conversations, press "Manual" or "Scan" and you are finished.
If not, and you wish to listen only to the talkgroups you have programmed, press "Manual", then press "Function" and toggle the up/down arrows to locate the bank you wish to close. Then press "Function and the number "5" and the words "Open" or "Closed" will appear. Choose "Closed".
(from p-67)
Hope this helps...

I have downloaded win95, but am trying to work out the manual entry for now. Just trying to get a good basic understanding of the system. (Lots of time on my hands, lol)

That's like hauling a cord of wood in your arms when the horse is hitched to the wagon and just waiting to haul it for you. Once you use Don's program to program the scanner, you won't want to program more than the occaisional frequency by hand.

I understand your thinking, AI42.............
However, as some just climb in their car and drive, I like to know how things work,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,at least to a degree......
