Default Where are New Iberia PD and SO?

Hi all. I've been listening on the New Iberia LTR system frequencies, and only heard one bit of voice traffic in the past few hours.

Have Iberia SO and New Iberia Public Safety migrated to LWIN or some other system?

Thanks and happy listening,

JB

OK

Followup on my own post. I've found the SO on the VHF-high freqs. in the rrdatabase. But no NI city stuff.

The New Iberia City Police were abolished several years ago. Law Enforcement is handeled by NISO. They dispatch on the VHF channels, and use that for most of thier traffic. They have the LTR 800 mobiles in the units, and use that for B/S and talkaround. That was a total waste of money if you ask me.

Default Followup

Thanks for the info. I have been listening now and hearing them (NI SO) including police units working in the city of New Iberia.

I often have my pc and scanne logging, and have only heard activity on the 800 system once in the past few weeks. I need to check more closely, but I'm wondering if it is convential only at this time, as I don't seem to hear the data bursts for LTR.

It's great to have one frequency to monitor for an entire county...makes for excellent situational awareness.

Does anyone know what "Channel 2" is to these guys? It doesn't seem to be on of the freqs mentioned on the rrdatabase for NI SO, or it's possibly simplex and that's why I can't hear it in LFT.

Only about half of the LTR systems actually use data bursts... Which is what makes ID'ing some of them difficult.
