Default Marine Communications

Anyone monitor marine comms. in and around Lake Pontchartrain? I live in Mandeville. Except for the obvious Ch.16 on the marine band, what else is there to monitor? Looking for something other than police and fire to listen to. Thanks!

Take a look at the WIKI for the USCG
Put in all the VHF Marine Channels as well as the LMR [P25] channels.

Post back what you hear.

Was mainly wondering if anyone in the area was alreay listening and what they were listenig to. Hopefully I can find some time this weekend to start programming some freqs. into one of the scanners and start monitoring. Will post what I hear, if anything, and freqs. that I'm getting activity on.

Also note the activity is both on the big P and the big M... As well as the MS River, and youll hear GoM comms... with that much waterway, youll get a lot of traffic.
