What scanner I need to Listen to New Orleans and Jefferson Parish police?

Uniden 396/996 Family (BCD396/996T's or the newest XT's) Radio Shack PRO-106 Family, or the GRE PSR 500/600.

UNO-PD, LSP, NOPD, JPSO etc are all on the LWIN 700 MHz P-25 TRS.

MILF is right you will need the scanners he mentioned.


IMO i think the 106 is the best bet you can use ACR500 or WIN500 and use that to program the LWIN dont forget those TG that will roam into the TRS when units from that area are in the site's area

FWIW, I am in the Old Metairie area and monitor NOPD/NOFD and JPSO/JPFD with my uniden 396t. I have had it since LATIE/LWIN began and have had no complaints yet. I would recommend this scanner, but I have no experience with any of the newer models (can't convince myself I need to upgrade)
