Good Afternoon....
The temperature's is 70+, the Sun is shining and their is a light wind here in the Shreveport area. We are expecting
more rain later tonight or early Monday morning.

Sniddy-rot-ah-futz! <Secret way to cuss>.
I hope all is well with each of you and your families. I'm recovering from the flu,
after I got my flu shot. (??????)
Now, I know most of you live in S. Louisiana and are paying attention to the LA. WIN stuff on 700 MHz. I don't have a scanner, as yet to monitor this and they are finally working in North Louisiana on the 700 MHZ network here. They
say, it appears that it will take a year to eighteen months to get it
operational
You'd figure that since they put it together in South Louisiana, it would go together the same way. But then, this might be a
Govement Project which means 10 years from now,

.
But, I have a question concerning the 800 MHz frequency assignments for some licenses. For instance: WNII-533. It has transmitter sites listed in Rosepine, (Vernon); Jena, (La Salle); Ringgold,(Bienville) and Bridge City,(Jefferson). IF I program my scanner with all the frequencies, will I get ALL the radio traffic from each transmitter site? I'm really NOT interested to listen to Jefferson, Vernon, La Salle parishes,
unless there is severe wx there or a possible disaster (I pray not). The F.C.C. ULS database doesn't list
control frequencies, so it's hard to know what to program in my R$ Pro-95.
Can someone enlighten me as to what to do to only receive Ringgold and leave off the others? This can also pertain to the State's new LAWIN set-up as well. Are they ALL going to be interconnected? I can see having the ability to check with other nearby areas for possible flight of a subject, but a car chase in Ringgold would not certainly need the help of those in Cameron Parish, maybe Webster, Bossier or Bienville, but not near the Gulf,
Doing database work as I can and still packing and moving.
Thanking you in advance,
GOD BLESS,
73,
Don/KA5LQJ
