LTR multi-net control channel

i did a tune search with my psr500 in the 800 band looking for new systems. it stopped on a frequency of 853.3500. It also showed it to be a motorola channel with the motor-boating sound you hear when hitting manual on a motorola control channel. I have had people tell me its still a ltr multinet system. But,do these systems give out an audible sound similar to motorola?? IS the scanner misreading it?,since multinet cant be trunked tracked?? Any help would be appreciated. I should mention I checked the fcc website and confirmed its a re-banded frequency for babylon,new york.

Unless GRE does some sort of kick ass update, there is no scanners today that will trunktrack LTR Multinet. It just isn't going to sound right.

But is it really multi-net? Does the sound of manually holding on the frequency the same as motorola?

Multi-Net doesn't sound like Motorola in any way. They use control channels but the signaling is sub-audible low-speed data.

MultiNet control channels sound like an open mic from a keyed in transmitter not a buzzing noise. You will get false readings when trying to decode it as a motorola system particularly on radio shack scanners.

by false readings you mean id types like a motorola system?? the sound didint resemble an open keyed mic. It definitely sounded like a motorola type control channel.
