Passport Trac/Passport Display programs

I just wanted to share some pictures of the Passport tracking and display program and hardware that I have been working on for quite a while. I recently converted the program from DOS based to Windows console. I also have programs that trac and decode LTR and Multinet. Multinet does not have good error correction code yet).

There are 2 circuit boards. The first is the Daughter board and is connected to a Connect Systems LT-2 LTR decoder. The board replaces the microcontroller in the LT-2 and it has a PIC microcontroller onboard. The LT-2 does the low pass filter and slicing while the daughter board does 300bps bit timing and bit banging out the LT-2's com port. In addition the LT-2 passes carrier operated squelch ot the com port.

The second board (Interface board) interfaces the PC with the radio and LT-2. It passes the LTR data and squelch data to the PC over the com port, and controls the ICOM to change frequencies via CI-V commands. There is also a speaker mute circuit operated with a relay.

Right now this works with the ICOM R7000 and other CI-V radios with a discriminator tap. I hope to add support for Uniden and GRE scanners in the future. These radios would require a disc tap.

Living in N Florida there is a public safety department in my area using the Multinet system... I'd love to give my thumb a break and find a way really monitor this system. It is Clay County, FL.

I tried more than a few times to obtain one of those LT-2 decoders but always got outbid.

I'm guessing that the receiver used must of course be able to do narrow band?

I have a RS Pro-2042 with the Opto OS-535 I/F and not sure if that will work.

His IC-R7000 shows FM on the display for the freq used.

It works in FM and FM-N modes on the radio.

OK - I guess I should have worded my question differently.

The RS Pro-2042 was never a narrow band radio(before the NB era).

With the addition of the Opto OS-535 I/F is the RS Pro-2042 NB receive capable?

If not it will not work properly. I think it does have all else thats needed.

Thanks for sharing this, It goes without saying many of us really depend on this feed especially during snow storms, I am still wondering why the NJTPA and GSP went to a system like this and it seems many people at both Authorities that used to monitor the plows are not happy as well.
