Default Question About the kenwood tk7180/8180

Im thinking about buying the tk7180/8180,i was wondering if the radio do the features of the OST Operator Select Tone,and is the tk 7189/8189 with keypad version,does it come in the high power series and remote mount option,

I just looked in one of my TK7180/TK8180 instruction manuals, and on page 13 it says OST is available "You can change the preset encode and decode tones for the selected channel. Your dealer can program up to 40 tones on your transceiver". It then tells how to change it by using a preprogrammed OST button and the "B" & "C" keys to scroll through the list.

The 180 series does come in a high power version (30 or 50 watt VHF and 30 or 45 watt UHF) and a remote mount option (KRK-10) is available.

is that same for the tk 7189/8189 also.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the x189 series radio. I did a search for it on the net and it looks like it is a non-U.S. radio.
