Anybody else in Maine own a Uniden Homepatrol, and has successfully programmed CMP?

I tried what is in the RR database, and no luck..not sure how long it has been since it was updated.

Then used what I found in another post:
http://forums.radioreference.com/uniden-scanners/241304-help-hp-1-no-longer-getting-cmp-maine.html

I imported that as a Favorites list, not sure if they just used what was in the database...I listen during the Super Storm and had outages in my area..not a sound..Still nothing...I'm starting to wonder if it's just a case of 800 mhz not being optimal in a area with many hills and mountains

I'm thinking with some of [previous posting and thread] that we need to get a good group of listeners to Sit on each Freq and capture the LCNs. There have been many changes, including Re-Banding [swapping with Nextel] in Maine. Also some of the Frequencies have been let to expire.

I spent sometime in Oct in Portland and posted some of my finds to ScanNewEngland and the Scan-ME Yahoogroup So many Freq's are used in Multiple Zones, and different LCN's were observed.

Same with ICE, found a new 900 TRS - not in the FCC or RR DB

reference CMP in the database here. It hasn't been updated since March of 2012. and hills and mountains can have some effect on it. plus some of the LCNs could have changed. with my local systems here in Knox County I have so many TGs that I have gotten with the LCNs and can't confirm what the exact usage is.

Since there is a low in activity for MSCOMMNET and with all the CMP interest in the area this week, I have been mapping out the CMP system for the last few days. I am about half way thru confirming the information. Since I did this a few years back it seems CMP has cut back on their towers, dropped some repeaters/frequencies and consolidated area 0 and area 1 in some locations. Some common talkgroups are 149 - Augusta Dispatch Center (ADC), 115 - ADC after hours, 069 - Radio Maintenance, 124 and 125 Mobile (truck to truck).

I have logged most of the repeaters for central and southern Maine. I hope to work on north of Augusta next week.

I have a roof mounted antenna and during the storm I was listening to Augusta, Falmouth, Hebron, Litchfield Sebago and Winthorp Towers. So their signal is pretty powerful and most of the repeaters in my area except for Falmouth (17) have checked out as not changing from 2 years ago.

Digger if possible could you make that in a excel file with all the info you have for CMP and send it to my radioreference email?

All I've heard so far is Radio Maintenance...I guess programming my Homepatrol with whats in the database is pretty much futile at this point...

I have 5 more towers to verify before I can post all the CMP LCN's. I have the LCN's for your area, which tower(s) are you listening to? Hebron,Denmark, Sebago, Shapleigh, Biddeford or York. Also which TGID are you seeing when you do pick up radio mainenance, if any?

They do not seem to be licensed for Greenwood, Rumford, Berlin, Dallas, Carrasset, Upper Enchantment, Guiford or Greenville towers anymore.

Hopefully in the next week or 2 I am going to buy myself my Xmas gift, and do the Extreme Mod for my Homepatrol..will then be able to do Trunking Discovery, Conventional Discovery, and will include a LCN Finder...
Also, with this radio to get my live feed back up, The Extreme Mod was needed to work...
I'll have to read up on setting up a LTR system on this radio from scratch, Big learning curve from scanners past..

cmp/hr-1

I heard about the h-p 1, and what i was told was discouraging. Personally, I love the pro 106. The HR automove is excellent! The HP-1 is said to be based on 5 mhz spacing. you have to download a program to set the mhz spacing accurate. Nice scanner, hard to handle. As far as C.M.P mapping goes, I found it best to scan them during a storm. Or you can wait for an mva that snaps a a C.M.P pole in 2, thats when they talk the most. Good luck with the programming, Ron

I haven't found it to be a problem with the Step Size..If you do a conventional discovery, or a limit search, yes, then it will hit on the adjacent channels sometimes...But if I program the frequency into a favorites list, using either Sentinel or via the HP, it will accept the frequency..one for example is Androscoggin SO on 154.82250..
I've pretty much abandoned trying to listen to CMP.. I listened during Sandy, and got one hit Radio Maint.

if I create a new LTR system on the HP, with some of the known active frequencies, then use the LCN finder, maybe might hear something ..Still reading the Extreme Upgrade manual...

I've added what you posted to the HP-1
Been getting hits on the Biddeford Service area, but doesn't seem right for my area..
I'm in New Portland
But it could be because I edited the RR database to add/remove frequencies, and is wrong to begin with
Today I heard calls being dispatched (a first) for towns near me...
I would think I would be in the Skowhegan Service area

What I have found works best for CMP is to program the TG you know, then lock out the 253's and 069's, then run in search mode. Gives the best of both worlds (search/scan)

They will use the tower that is closest, so it is best to monitor all towers within 15 to 20 miles. During major storms they will be using the local dispatch centers more than they do routinely.

In New Portland you are closest to Carrabasset tower, but also on the outskirts of Berlin, New Sharon and Skowhegan. You may want to focus on those 4 for starters. New Portland also shows up on the CMP service map under the Farmington Service Area which should be TG 112 and 117. Towns east of you are in Skowhegan Service Area. I'm not sure what TG's Skowhegan uses.

These are the TG I have identified so far below. Looks like you are hearing Biddeford, Shapleigh and York towers from the frequencies you listed, I would not rule out Falmouth. I would lock out the 253 and 069 talk groups just to cut down on non voice TG's. Radio Maint (069) seems to have non-home repeaters programmed into some sites (09), no all, so they are not disturbing the routine communications. They also seem to use their MDT's or a test signal most of the time where you hear mostly a squelch noise, that is why I just lock out the 069 TG's
