Smile Scanning laws in the state of maine

I was wondering what the laws were in the state of Maine, re having a 2 meter rig in your car that had police frequencies programed in.

Thanks

Tassie

Tassie,

I thought I had seen something on a website that indicated that there were no
laws concerning having a scanner in the car in Maine, but now I can't find it.
If you are a licensed ham operator, you shouldn't have any problem with having
public service freqs in your 2 meter radio.

This website has some good information on scanning laws. I think it has been listed on this website before: http://www.afn.org/~afn09444/scanlaws/
