New to scanning.

I live in southern Maine,cumberland county and just purchased a Pro-97 used that had been programed by Radioshack. I would like to receive more frequencies but not sure where to look or what to look for. Would like to hear some marine,aircraft,railroad. I have been to the Maine page here but dont know what dec or hex means. Any help would be great. Thanks

You'll have to get the rail fans to help you with that , on the other ......search 150 - 162.00 and then maybe 450 - 470 , probably find some good stuff there.
