Also keep an eye on the LMR Channels
http://wiki.radioreference.com/index...obile_Channels
as many of the Districts/Sectors have begun to use them for Law Enforcment Patrols [P25]

Which of the Former LANTS now CG-xx or NET-xxx are you folks using down there.
They are listed in the Land Mobile Section

Default Freq in MD

In the Sector Baltimore they use channel 23. After fixes to their Rescue 21 system they will probably go back to the other standard channels.

Default TISCOM and Other CG Question

Hello,

a. Re the CG TISCOM frequencies:

I have done the normal Google and wiki lookups, but can't seem to come up with exactly how, and when, these might be used by the CG.

Might anyone please provide any usage info. for them ?

b. Also interested in the Land-Mobile CG usage.
Seems like there are about 28 channels.

Are any of these "main" channels" ?
Which are used around the Boston area, or can it be any of them ?
How does the CG use land-mobile, seeing that most of their work is naturally not land related ?

c. I'm assuming TISCOM is USB. Right ?

d. What mode are the Land-Mobile ones ? Just the "regular" fm ?

Much thanks,
Bob

The Coast Guard In Cape May use land mobile channel 27 (171.2375) for there base fire, rescue, EMS operations. That is the only one of the 28 channels I have heard anything on.

CG-08 [P25] seems to be Sector Boston's Primary, altho others have
been heard from time-time. 6:30-7:30 am you hear the Small boats
check with Sector on 157.0750 and then say "Switch to CG-08"
and then the P25 is tested. They are used up/n/down the Coast
but the Only Reports seem to be from the NorthEast and NY/NJ

Boston moved from CG-08 DVP/DES [Analog] to P25 last year.

Land-Mobile aka LMR is just a term to differentiate the VHF Marine
channels, which can and do also get used on Land by the USCG.

Yes, VHF Marine and the LMR are VHF FM, with the LMR being mostly P25
