Default USCG Group New York

Since the plane went down in the Hudson the other day I have noticed Group NY using automated message announcements. The initial broadcast on 16 and the one that follows on 22A are both recorded and in that same Perfect Paul synthesized voice used by the National Weather Service for their broadcasts. These periodically repeated broadcasts are in regard to an engine posing a navigation hazard and divers looking for submerged wreckage. This is something new, whether they continue to use automation time will tell.

I've been hearing the "unscheduled marine broadcasts" with the robot voice for about a month out of Charleston.

It is part of the new Rescue21. However, not all Sectors have R21 at this time.

And just for info., "Group NY" is now Sector NY.

Hey Harry. Long time no talk.

The list on my site is the most up to date with the "CG" channel designators.

The N2NOV site is the best, for the NorthEast with the VHF Marine and his great list of the LANT's now CG-xx or the newer [same as CG, except NET] NET-###
