Can't help you much but the last cruise I was on in 2004 was Royal Carribbean and they had a 800 mhz digital trunk system in use on the ship and I was using an analog hand held scanner so I dind't hear anything. Don't know about Carnival.

As jack pointed out [Thanks, was out of town for the week] check out my web page. You will find many of the Ships use the same Channels [different PL/DPL] or Channel plan for each line.

As always, Post back what you find, as the big part of Re-Confirmation of the frequencies to Validate they are still in use.

The Destiny is one, that I have No Reports on, so Be the First

Carnivals typical Channel plan is
Ch.01 457.5250 R
Ch.02 457.5500 R
Ch.03 457.5750 R
Ch.04 468.3250 S
Ch.05 469.9500 S
Ch.06 464.2750 S
Ch.07 464.3000 S
Ch.08 464.3250 S

Also, when are you going? Other ships will be in port also, and I can get you a pretty good list of them..
Date Leaving and Ports...

Which RCCL ship?
The only 800 Reports on the Hi-Seas has been Disney.

EOS is a UHF Rptr System.

Many ships do exploit the On-Board Telephone system [never searched, it might be 800/900] for additional Comms.

I'll be on the Destiny out of Miami August 24th were stopping in Grand Turk, Half moon cay and Nassau i only noticed a few number of handhelds last time (this is my 2nd trip on the destiny) and was primarily intrested in Operations arriving/departing port as I have a feeling about the only thing I will be hearing while at sea wont be much but I'm dying to hear the corrdination and operations especially when departing Miami since most of the ships sail within like a 2 hour window

Well your in-luck. Someone just returned from a trip on
the Destiny and found One channel in use, there might be
others as well.

457.5500 R 67.0 Hz Ch.01 Operations.

I'm sure there are more, but it's a START on what to keep a Priority on.

Some channels don't get used in PORT [Casino], also depending on Ports and Interference
from other Ships, they may change channels from time-time.

I was just on the other small sister ship (Pacific Princess - 679 Passengers).
July 9th to July 23rd, 2009 Alaska Cruise for two weeks.

Looking at ecps92 Cruise ship page. Only had 1 freq for the ship listed.

Confirmed - 467.7500 R 457.525 I with CTCSS 69.3 - Bridge Ops.

So here are 3 new ones to add :-)

Pacific Princess 467.5500 ctcss 74.4 - Engineering ? (working with pumps and etc)
Pacific Princess 467.8000 ctcss 79.7 - 457.5750 ctcss 79.7 (CH.2) (putting up 'High wind signs')
Pacific Princess 467.8250 - Paging System. (Every worker had pagers)

(No cordless/wireless ship system phones on this ship like on bigger ships)

Someone doing this cruise(per the front desk). Someone flushed down a bathroom hand towel down the toilet. Since it fell in and tried to flush it down! They fixed it about 2 hours later!

Some extra ships I noted doing the trip to confirmed again for ecps92 website.
July 13th Confirmed - Rhapsody of the Seas 467.5500 R 457.5500 I ctcss 74.4 (Moved Gangway to deck 3 (looked outside and over to confirmed)

July 13th Confirmed - Rhapsody of the Seas 457.5500 dcs233 Helping passenger with Wheelchair in port(getting back on ship)

July 20th Confirmed - Radiance of the Seas 457.5750 R 467.5250 I - dcs223

Thanks for the Info on the Pacific. I think the Royal, Pacific & Tahatian all have the same equipment installed when they were built. Sounds like they are all configured the same with different ctcss tones. The Tahatian had the same paging but I did not list and who wants to listen to pagin tones all the time.

aensr,

If you want to research it some more. Look at the Oceana Cruises 3 ships on ecps92 cruise freq page. They are sisters ships with Pacific & Tahatian . Since they were the old Renaissance Cruises ships.
Renaissance Cruises - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Each ship used the same paging freq. Some other related stuff you and I logged this past week.

Default Emerald Princess

I was on the Emerald in May, the following frequencies were in use during the cruise.

457.550 Output 467.550 Input ctcss 118.8 Deck Department & Command
457.5625 Output 467.5625 Input ctcss 118.8 Engineering Department
457.575 Output 467.575 Input ctcss 118.8 Hotel Department
457.525 Paging Crew

The casino has its own channel but I did not write it down, it is simplex only anyway.
There is also a paging channel for the beepers they give you for dining waits and I did not write that down either.

Alan
