Default Off NJ Coast

at 230pm heard CG group Cape May getting reports of a boating accident. After listening to more CGM Florida a 1000ft container ship hit a fishing vessel Dictator in 38-43.5N 073-52.0W. CG6517, a C130, Dependable, and Finback heading out to the area. Other vessels responding to area. Sounds as if the Florida is taking on water but pump keeping up. Air units now refueling in AC and returning to scene until Dependable arrives. They will be towing Dictator to Cape May.

What Freq's are you listening to??

The CG would be in-the-clear on VHF Marine Channels.
They use P25 in the VHF LMR Spectrum [Search the Wiki for Coast Guard]

I am in ocean city, MD and I was listening to the coast guard frequencies. The boater first came on the Ocean City, MD Coast Guard Frequency and then they transfered it to New Jersey.
