Default Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore area

Hello all! I looked in the wiki but didn't really see anything....I'm headed up to the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore for a few days of camping/scanning etc. (Chesterton, Indiana area). Other than the normal marine channels, any freqs y'all would recommend I listen to up there?

Thanks,
Rick N9GSU

Indiana Dunes police are on:
166.250 no PL!! (repeater)
166.275 no PL!! (repeater)
166.325 dunes fire no PL
166.300 unknown

Dunes police listed above are the main ones to listen to, but definantly program all the 159.XXX DNR freqs. Now when something big goes down, then Statewide DNR comes into play, and they
are on the Safe-T system 100% and they use their "ops" TG's more than their main TG.

I never hear the statewide DNR patrolling at the Dunes on a regular basis, only the Dunes Police
at the state parks along Lake Michigan.

Not really sure why the Indiana Lakeshore Dunes are not patroled by the statewide DNR folks,
but have their own local DNR "police" force. No doubt they are DNR because they are in the
federal VHF band. Interesting that they also don't use a PL on the 166.xxx repeaters (at least on the repeater outputs).

Have fun at the Dunes. Take note when you walk on the dry sand on the beach it kinda "squeeks" or makes a funny sound.
