It's Motorola's version of SCADA. And what is SCADA? Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. They just stuck part of their name in front of it.

cool...that site also has info on fixed and mobile data ... does this mean Charles county is constructing a mobile data network, too?

I honestly don't know much about what they're up to. Charles County is right on the edge of what I can hear so I don't pay much attention to them.

The MOSCAD is engineered into all of M's larger radio systems for the purpose of monitoring all critical pieces of the pie (RF, microwave, backbone data, GPS, tower lights, HVAC....Yada Yada Yada). It has nothing to do with MDC's. On a different note, I can say that they will be starting a pilot MDC program shortly, but it will use a cellular/PCS carrier for the wireless piece. Motorola is still behind the curve on tha data side of the fence.
