I got the page OK, but nothing on the audio. What is it using - Winamp? Real Media? It's also possible my good-for-xxxx ISP is blocking it. Anyone have any luck with this? And exactly what frequencies is it scanning?

Thanx for passing this along WMBio. I'll be adding it to the CHM Maryland page shortly.

Allegany county scanner audo link

Mike,

The receiver is on a 1500 foot mountain top, it goes off line from power bumps, we are getting a UPS to add to the unit for reliablity.

It should play fine with Win. media, I am listing to it right now.

Kasey ( KK3L ) is getting ready to interface the scanner for freq changes from home, this list is not complete since this is a work in progress and has only been on line 2 weeks. We are trying to add PL tone decode to get rid of the low band skip.

I couldn't get this to open with Firefox but it opened just fine via Internet Explorer. This is just an Active X thing...All sounded good...

Wmbio & Kasey, good work! Sure would be nice to see which freq it's hitting on since that's quite a range you're getting. I am finally getting it via Internet Explorer 6 on the WEB page and it's crystal clear. To let you know...first tried on Netscape 7.0. No audio. Then tried to open in Windows Media Player 10. No-go. Got error that one or more codecs missing. Wonder if it would work in WMP9? Also tried in WinAmP 5.08c and got error synching to MPEG. Have not tried Firefox or Opera yet. I'll keeping testing and let you know what works and what doesn't. Thanks for the heads up on what you are doing. I have friends in the area of coverage and will let them know about your service. Will it be up 24/7? Pat

Sounds good guys. I listened using Netscape 7.1 with Windows Media Player 10.

Take a look at my scanner site and, if that's what you're trying to do, I'll try to lend a hand. I only broadcast evenings from 8-midnight so I can monitor it. Site URL is in my signature line below.

Tin Ear,

Yes this is what we are looking for. Kasey ( KK3L ) is the site administrator, and I am getting your information to him to look at. Thanks for the help in Western Maryland.

No, I have no email from him that came from the web site or from here or from anywhere for that matter. If I don't get it by morning I'll give him a shout.

Stay tuned, ............New link page coming soon, that will support 3 different audio players, and have video display of received frequencies. We are adding a new reciever with PL tone to eliminate intermod and distant station reception

A work in progress.

New link page!!!, display of received frequencies plus the listings. We are adding a new reciever with PL tone to eliminate intermod and distant station reception. More work to follow to fine tune the page, PL does not seem to be working well today, will work on the intermod.

New link addy:

WMBio - I'll make the change on the Capitol Hill Monitors website, and get the page updated hopefully this week.

Re the intermod; have you considered putting some attenuation on the radio? Often that's an easy way to help with problems like that (of course, depending on the radio, that might be a setting that hits every channel, and you wouldn't want that, I would think)?

Sometimes adding 5db or so would be all it would take.
