I got this from a Scan-DC contributor; his English and grammer are at best horrific, so I've cleaned it up a bit; any errors in this is therefore entirely mine....

note monday 5-2 at 9am HavreDeGrace pd will leave their uhf freqs going to the 800trs, their old uhf and Belair's frequencies will become data channels.
apd will shut down their uhf the week after
hatford fd uhf chs will stay up until pa fds and others get 800 astro radios.

Yup- probably noted due to the possibility of skip interfering from Pa down to Md.

Al, Given the distribution of towns along the PA-MD line, there is a lot of interstate mutual aid.....I'm guessing some of the PA fire depts either have the capacity to transmit on....or at least monitor Harford's UHF fire freqs.

Yep that what it is, not all of the York County Depts have the 800mhz radios and use the 460.600 link to talk with Harford Co.

Noticed that the towns are now on the trunked system as was announced on the system last week in a general broadcast. That frees up a couple of spaces on my conventional police bank which I needed.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if Harford County will continue to page on the 460MHz system? Just curious as to how the volunteers will be paged once the new 800MHz system is fully functional.

Thanks

Paul, the first message at the top of this page seems to indicate they're going to do that very thing. Whether it's for the vollies (which are plentiful in Harford) or for mutual aid with York County PA as was suggested, it looks like the 460.6 freq will stay as is.

Hi folks. I travel I95 a lot. I guess I should put in the 800 frq and not worry about all the other. Is that right?

Nathan or anyone else that might know - I'm trying to clean up some old junk in my files - these are listed for public works. Are these gone or going to go to the Trunk, or are they staying put where they are?

453.825 Havre deGrace PW
155.145 Belair PW
153.815 Aberdeen PW
153.860 Aberdeen PW

73s and thanx....Mike

I'm pretty sure all those are gonna stay for now the only units going trunked are Fire and Police. All other County Goverment will be staying where they are.

Mike, you do have 155.085 [PL 110.9] for Harford County Utilities, don't you?
It's listed as Utilities but all I hear is the Water Dept on it.

FYI: Harford county does not consistantly monitor 460.600 anymore.. York County stations are buying the $1500.00 version of the XTS5000 So they can "interoperate" and the neighboring Harco companies are adding Low band radios so they can "interoperate"..Cecil County has been effectively cut off as well, as the 46 MHz. link has been severed as well..

True interoperatbility.. Buy a Moto radio or forget it !!

Thank God for DHS Grants !!
