Does anyone know the status of Washington Counties new trunked system? What kind of system will it be? LTR? Motorola? Does anyone know the projected start time?

Not much infor on the system itself, but here is an article about the new system as a whole....supposed to be up and running in 6 mos, so I guess we should start listening for some new freq's in the area.

911 center should be ready in six months

HAGERSTOWN — The Consolidated 911 Dispatch Center and several other long-awaited safety-service projects in Washington County should be fully functional within the next six months.

Maryland: 911 center should be ready in six months

I didn't check the database myself, but what you have above looks like freqs curently used by Hagerstown P.D. They will be used by the new county system for data, not voice. The new radios will be on a UHF P25 trunked system. Testing should begin next month & it should be operational for law enforcement in September. Pretty much all L.E. will be encrypted, except for the main dispatch talkgroups.

Thanks for the heads up on that...I do find it a bit interesting....those same freq's (and you are correct, they are currently the ones used by Hagerstown City Police), are licensed to both municipalities (I am not aware of any interoperability)

For Hagerstown City; WNJQ596

How about this one?

Kevin,

Who is the manufacture of the new radio system? And it will be P-25 or Analog?

Thanks
Nathan
