Default Ocean City/Worcester County EDACS

We now have confirmed site IDs for the Ocean City and Worcester County EDACS systems. OC is site 1 and WC is site 7. Given this and the coordination of talkgroups it strongly suggests that these two systems are networked, not 2 separate systems. I'm inclined to merge the two systems in the database as a result to clean it up. Please let me know if you have any information to the contrary. Thanks.

Thumbs down Do not change!!!!

Eric they are linked to a certain extent such as shared talkgroups, however it is not a roaming system. I would leave them alone and not comingle the 2 systems as they operate as 2 seprate systems. I hope EDACSTech can explain further or better than I can. But they are not all one system I can assure you from monitoring it while in OC.

Edit** Also while I was in OC doing a ride-along with the fire department you have to switch systems to get to Worcester's other talkgroups that are not linked thru the OC System.

Also how can you change a system in Maryland based on what information you have received, when your in another state and not able to monitor the radio system to see for yourself.

The Worcester County & Ocean City Trunked Radio Systems have separate ownership, management & maintenance. They issue GID's from different agencies but share a common LID database so not to duplicate. A NIM network connection between the two systems allow "some" wide-area talk groups and public safety responders to use both systems for extended coverage, interoperability & backup. It also allows each dispatch center the ability to use both systems.
